We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Claims Analyst to join our Assessments Department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing claims cost allocations and maintaining the claims cost component of the assessment experience rating system.
The Claims Analyst exercises a high level of discretionary adjudicative authority while ensuring full compliance with the Workers' Compensation Act, as well as established policies, practices, and procedures. Key responsibilities include making coverage determinations on claims and overseeing the claims cost allocation system.

Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
- Determine who the correct accident employer is on a claim and firm code the accident employer along with the appropriate classification unit and operating location
- Determine the status and/or coverage details for claimants
- Register unregistered accident employers and assist in determining whether the employer should be charged with the costs of the claim
- Implement relief of costs decisions in the claims costs systems and process interjurisdictional files in the claims costs system
- Answer questions about Claims Costs Reports and the impacts of claims on employer's experience ratings
- Professionally and efficiently solicit and analyze information to make employer determinations and potential registration decisions
- Explain registration requirements and consequences of not being registered to unregistered employers
- Make timely, independent decisions by applying law and policy both verbally and in writing
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Accurately record, explain, and defend detailed information orally and in writing
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- A post-secondary diploma and a minute of three years of experience in making adjudicative decisions or applying law and/or policy to make decisions within the last 10 years
