Microserve is looking for an End User Compute Specialist to join our Professional Services Team. This role can be remote anywhere in Western Canada. The End User Compute Specialist will report to the Manager of Professional Services.
The end user compute specialist’s primary responsibilities will include implementing and managing the Desktop Management platform for one or many of our customers, including hands on development, standardization, and management of all desktop infrastructure including hardware, software deployment, images, and patching standards. This position also takes responsibility and ownership of the Microsoft Endpoint Manager Platform as well as other management and monitoring tools (such as VMware Airwatch, MS MDT, MS USMT, etc) and technical responsibility for managing the desktop related group policy environment.
This role requires a highly proactive approach and will be expected to lead and drive continual improvements to overall desktop infrastructure optimization while maintaining a highly stable platform. This position will take on special project leadership responsibilities as they pertain to new customer-facing systems and application evaluations, testing and implementation.
Build, configure, deploy, support, and maintain MS Endpoint Manager (E.g. Intune/Autopilot & SCCM) and related infrastructure for our customers
Installation, evaluation, implementation, automation, integration, analysis, maintenance, and problem resolution for clients.
Maintain up to date knowledge of new hardware and software developments; evaluate alternative approaches and recommend new software or modifications to enhance operations and development activities; Consult with IT staff and clients to determine the impact of new or revised applications on existing software
Develop and Maintain process and procedure documents as well as documentation for troubleshooting SCCM/Intune/Autopilot deployment issues
Manage Active Directory group policy including review of existing policies and proposed changes
Respond to and assist with resolving security-related incidents that impact the desktop environment.
Design and implement Microsoft Modern Endpoint Management solutions.
Create and manage application deployment objects for new and existing software
Manage deployment of all patches, critical updates and service packs on a predefined schedule
Coordinate application package release with Software Solutions and QA teams and business owner.
Provide 3rd level support for the desktop platform and provide guidance to junior level staff when necessary; Perform related duties, as required.
Participate in weekly Operations and project meetings
Other Miscellaneous duties as required.
Computer / technology related degree or certification
Minimum 5 years workstation and end user support experience with windows 7 and windows 10
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Modern Endpoint Management.
Minimum 3 years general network and server support experience
Self-motivated, able to work alone with minimal supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Performing all client interactions with exemplary customer service skills
Troubleshoot problems, analyze problems, and research solutions, escalate as needed
Manage workload, time, prioritize requests while reporting to a service manager
Great teamwork and interpersonal skills
Other technology related certifications and training is an asset
Experience using ConnectWise is an asset
