Department Overview
The Wealth Management Finance team is responsible for delivering key financial functions for TDBG's Wealth Management business. These include business planning, financial analysis, performance measurement, and strategic decision support.
This team collaborates closely with Wealth Management business units and TDBG's centralized finance teams to provide expert financial advice aligned with the bank's overarching financial goals. Within Wealth Finance, the PWM Finance team specifically supports the Private Wealth Management and Private Wealth Management businesses.
Job Description:
The Finance Manager will report to the Senior Group Manager, PWM, and will support all aspects of the FP&A and Strategy process for the PWMF business.
This role will be responsible for supporting the Private Wealth Management business through financial leadership and ensuring that balance growth and profitability strategies are planned and achieved. The successful candidate must have strong financial acumen and a good understanding of accounting principles. Familiarity with TDBFG financial systems is an asset, as is experience in the Wealth Management industry.

Job Description:

This role will be responsible for supporting the Private Wealth Management business through financial leadership and ensuring that balance growth and profitability strategies are planned and achieved. The successful candidate must have strong financial acumen and a good understanding of accounting principles. Familiarity with TDBFG financial systems is an asset, as is experience in the Wealth Management industry.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Lead the quarterly forecasting, annual planning, business casing, and medium-term outlooks in support of TD Private Wealth Management while also finding opportunities to enhance surrounding processes
- Oversee completion of the monthly reporting packages and design value-added management reporting to provide insightful interpretation of key business drivers underlying the business results, highlight key issues and make appropriate recommendations where required
- Production and presentation of executive-level material to CFO, Wealth and VP/SVP of PWM and responding to specific questions
- Conduct insightful, driver-based analysis of the PWM business revenues, expenses, including FTE
- Provide support to business leaders in developing strategic priorities and defining long-term business objectives while effectively communicating relevant and meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes
- Coordinate with various stakeholders across product, strategy, business development, contact centre and marketing to collect, analyze and compile forecast / budget information
- Take an active role in providing financial inputs and reviewing business cases and strategic initiatives as part of the Wealth Management project governance process
- Effectively communicate relevant and meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes
- Act as subject matter expert for own area. Provide guidance, advice, and recommendations to support dealings with internal and external partners
- Active participation in Finance initiatives and pan-Wealth projects (where appropriate)

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in detail, but also step back and take a big picture perspective to synthesize issues and present concise concepts and solutions
- Strong leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal) with proven ability push back and/or facilitate decision making
- Proven track record of providing value added Finance support through initiative and creativity
- Strong inter-personal skills, including strong relationship-building skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to proactively follow through on identified issues and work toward resolution
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point and Outlook
- Knowledge of Hyperion, Alteryx and Tableau would be an asset
Education and Accreditation Requirements:
- University/College education with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business
- Business and/or accounting designation (MBA/CFA/CMA/CGA/CA) would be an asset
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in finance
