Very interesting and unique analysis and planning role with a global public company. Conducting short-to-medium supply chain planning on a global scale. Opportunity for long-term learning and career growth, as well as mentorship from inspiring leaders. Highly competitive total compensation package. Potentially open to out-of-town candidates who are very serious about relocating to Vancouver.

Who- the Company:
Our client is a high profile, well-established, and reputable global public company. The company has a corporate culture which emphasizes learning & development, collaboration, teamwork, and high performance. The people at this company are very dedicated to their work and also know how to have fun. This organization truly values their employees and provides great perks that promote a healthy work life.

What- the Role:
On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a new Global Supply Chain Planner. This is a vitally important role for the company and involves near-term planning for the company’s global supply chain- analyzing geopolitical situations, natural environment factors, and other constantly changing variables impacting shipping routes. The Planner will also analyze supply and demand- primarily using Excel, as well as an ERP and other software and tools.

The Planner will contribute directly to the company’s profitability while aligning with the emphasis the company places on safety and sustainability.

The new Global Supply Chain Planner will report into leaders who have been with the company for 5 to 12 years and who have a wealth of knowledge and mentorship to share. SWIM has placed a couple people on this team over the last few years who are very happy at the organization. This company is known for providing learning opportunities and long-term career growth (this is a newly created role but is also open partly due to a recent promotion, for example).

SWIM will provide interested candidates with a thorough job description.

Who- the Candidate:
5+ years relevant and progressive work experience. We are seeking a well-rounded individual who is collaborative, adaptable, and highly analytical and who loves working with a close-knit team. Qualified people for this role will be able to quickly review a large amount of information, weigh out options and do a cost/benefits analysis, and make clear recommendations to the business.

Ideally candidates will have worked in the supply chain department of a global company, perhaps in manufacturing, shipping, natural resources, oil & gas, or chemical sectors. The Planner will communicate with stakeholders around the world, so clear, effective, and professional communication skills (written and verbal) are crucial.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work, as no two days are the exact same at this company and the work environment is very dynamic- there are constant changes; therefore, the supply chain team is always pivoting, innovating, and re-strategizing. Someone who is strong in this role will feel like they are making a tangible positive impact on the company as they tackle the supply chain and delivery challenges that crop up.  We are seeking someone who is passionate about producing high quality work.

Candidates must have a relevant University degree- perhaps in business, engineering, finance, operations, supply chain, etc. Proficiency in Excel is a requirement for this role- the more robust the Planner’s Excel-based analytical skills, the better! Experience with Power BI, an ERP (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.), and/or a demand planning software is very beneficial, but not required as long as the Planner is willing to learn and eventually master new systems.

Where:
Downtown Vancouver. Close to public transit and many amenities like restaurants and shops. After training, there is opportunity for a couple days a week work-from-home flexibility on a hybrid schedule- please discuss with SWIM.

How Much:
Very competitive base salary commensurate with experience and skills- likely in the range of $100,000 to $116,000, with some flexibility beyond that based on relevance and level of work experience and depth of analytical skills. This company provides an excellent total compensation package including a very generous amount of paid time off, a solid bonus program, a robust pension plan, a health & wellness allowance, and great health benefits- please discuss further with SWIM.
