Job Description:
Manager, TDS Portfolio Management Group
The TDS Portfolio Management Group (PMG) is dedicated to the management and successful delivery of the TDS Change portfolio. The PMG team works with the greater TDS Project Delivery teams to drive Project Delivery Excellence through managing Delivery Risk, Execution Risk, and updating Senior Executives and the TDS SET member with items of note.
Reporting to the PMG Senior Manager, the Manager ensures alignment between TDS and enterprise project methodologies, policies and standards. This position has a high level of direct interaction with Project teams (PDL/PDM/Business Owner/Technology Lead), Executive Sponsors, Finance, Risk and other delivery and control partners. This position will require an individual who can "think outside of the box" in terms of developing, communicating, sharing, implementing and improving project methodology and governance processes, controls and tools. Finally, the individual will offer guidance and support to the Project Delivery Community throughout TDS, including Portfolio Directors and Practice Leads.

- Perform end to end oversight and governance of TDS projects
- Review project documentation to ensure compliance with project objectives, benefits, budget and timelines
- Assist in the management / facilitation of the weekly Change Management Forum and monthly IIC (Initiative Investment Committee) and CMGC (Change Management Governance Committee) meetings (TDS PIC and TDS SPC)
- Manage the TDS Project Portfolio budget to ensure adherence to plan, pro-actively raising any issues
- Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge and experiences, leveraging best practices
- Interact regularly with stakeholders including 1B, 2A, control partners, finance, technology and others
- Understanding of Project Management, roles and responsibilities of stakeholders within project structure
Job requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a combination of strategic planning and strategy development, large-scale change management and communications in support of business objectives.
- Demonstrated good judgment in dealing with sensitive situations and providing counsel to executives and management.
- Strategic thinker, with experience managing work effort and key messaging with broader organizational strategies in mind.
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with the practices, procedures and principles of project, program and portfolio management.
- Understanding of Wholesale banking businesses is an asset.
- Team player who excels at delivering high quality work under tight timelines while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and time management skills with a high energy level and proactive approach, including strong anticipatory skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Proven ability to develop strong business relationships with internal partners and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced facilitation, presentation and active listening skills and exceptional writing skills.
- Flexible and adaptable - comfortable with ambiguity and a rapidly changing environment.
Additional Information
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
- Graduate degree would be an asset.
- Familiarity with EDG Policies and Procedures would be an asset
- PMP would be an asset
