Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
CUSTOMER
- Be a trusted advisor and partner to People Managers, Employees and HR business partners on employee relations matters
- Support people managers on a wide variety of employee relations such as performance management, behavior management, leaves and accommodation, compensation, health and safety, etc.
- Coach people managers to build out enterprise people leadership capability
- Resolve issues within level of authority and escalate issues, seek expertise where appropriate to ensure an integrated and sound approach to managing cases in compliance with internal and external requirements
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to provide consultation and advice on complex employment matters, providing strategies, options and risk assessment for both individual employee situations, as well as special initiatives and broad business changes
SHAREHOLDER
- Prioritize and manage own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
- Follow internal and industry regulations, and operating practices, in completing and recording transactions for either the organization or clients
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
- May lead special initiatives by representing TD/ the business internally and externally, as a subject matter expert
- Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of strategies, programs and practices related to own area of expertise
- Ensure respective programs, policies and practices are well managed, meet business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with HR priorities
- Ensure the prompt and thorough resolution of escalated issues
EMPLOYEE / TEAM
- Continuously enhance knowledge / expertise in own area
- Keep current on emerging trends / developments and grow knowledge of the business, analytical tools and techniques
- Prioritize and manage own workload to deliver quality results and meet assigned timelines
- Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Establish effective relationships across multiple businesses partners
- Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units
BREADTH & DEPTH
- Focused on providing specialized guidance / assistance for complex issue / situations
- Work independently as the senior subject matter expert
- Provide advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members and may coach and educate others
- Considered a subject matter expert within a given area
- Expert understanding of the overall function and / or business supported as well as compliance and regulatory issues / requirements
- Focus on medium -term issues (e.g. monthly-quarterly)
- Oversee and/or independently performs tasks from end to end
- Undertake and complete a variety of projects and initiatives, may include the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertise
- Generally reports to a Senior Manager role
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree
- 5+ years related experience
